Whangamata, Coromandel

This holiday home was designed for a confined site where the view of the beach was impeded by the house in front. A key design resolution and driver is the rooftop terrace accessed by an exterior spiral staircase from the main living space on the first floor.  The terrace itself is nestled between other roofs, as a kind of crows nest, and affords panoramic views of the sea and coast.
